Offering Brazilian Butt Lifts in Arlington Heights, Elgin, Glen Ellyn, Hinsdale, Naperville, Schaumburg, and St. Charles, IL
The Brazilian Butt Lift is a procedure to improve the look of your buttocks. There are three types of ways surgeons go about a butt lift for a patient, including:
- Buttock implants
- Fat grafting
The difference in procedures is the extent of scarring. Flaps are used during a simple lift procedure. Fat transfer is used for patients who desire a more fullness over their buttock area. During the fat transfer procedure, the removed fat is placed deeply within the muscle and in many different layers to create a smooth surface without irregularities. It is common for surgeons to perform liposuction as well to enhance the shape of the buttocks.
Fat grafting has changed buttock enhancement to be a simpler procedure, performed within 1.5 hours, with minimal pain, discomfort, and recovery time. Candidates for this surgery are usually 18 years or older and in good physical health.
BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT PRE-OPERATION
If you are a smoker, your surgeon will strongly urge you to quit at least six weeks before your surgery as smoking can interfere with the healing process and the viability of the fat grafts. Also, medications that can increase the risk of bleeding should be stopped. As this surgery is performed as an outpatient procedure under general anesthesia, it’s important to arrange for transportation.
BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT RECOVERY
Following your surgery, you will feel tired, sore, and slightly stiff. As mentioned before, you should arrange for transportation home as well as someone who can stay with you the first few days after the procedure. You will be given a compression garment to wear that will offer support for the first few days after surgery. It’s important to rest, drink fluids, and take your prescribed medications. You’ll be able to resume light work within a few days but you should avoid too much physical exertion for the first few weeks.
BENEFITS OF BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFTS
One of the benefits of this procedure is that it is less invasive than butt implants. This means less recovery time and discomfort following the surgery. Also, this procedure offers increased fullness and roundness as a result.
BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT RISKS
Complications during a Brazilian Butt Lift are rare. As with all surgeries, the risks may include:
- Contour irregularities
- Seroma formation
- Grafts not taking requiring repeat surgery
You can minimize your risk by following the instructions of your surgeon for before and after your procedure. It’s also important to keep follow-up appointments for after surgery so that your doctor can ensure that you’re healing correctly.
